DMOZ not being indexed by google anymore?

The DMOZ directory was down for quite q while now, but most of the systems are back and working since a cuple of weeks now.
However I have realized that Google seems not to index the directory anymore or at least very slowly. Pages I’ve added several weeks ago are not in the index yet and these are not only leaf-level categories I’m talking about here.

Try Yahoo! win prizes?

Yahoo Inc. is considering offering free music downloads, discounts on DVD
rentals and frequent-flier miles to users who make the Web site their primary
search engine.

The possibility was disclosed in a recent online survey of some of Yahoo’s
e-mail users, intended to gauge interest in a rewards program, that detailed
the idea and provided a list of potential incentives.

In contemplating such a program, Yahoo is showing the lengths to which it
may go to try to erode Google Inc.’s dominance in search. But it also
illustrates Yahoo’s concerns about the rest of the industry, which has signaled
increasing interest in offering users carrots for their loyalty.

In December, Microsoft Corp. Chairman Bill Gates suggested that his
company may offer cash or free products to users of its MSN search engine. A
few months before that, A9, owned by online retailing giant Inc.,
started giving frequent users small discounts on purchases from its parent’s
Web site.

Yahoo to offer incentives for using search engine?

Yahoo confirmed on Wednesday that it’s polling some Yahoo Mail users
about what they would want in exchange for making Yahoo their primary
search engine. The survey was sent to a random sampling representing
about 5 percent of its Yahoo Mail users, a Yahoo representative said.

“Yahoo is considering launching a program to reward people who make
Yahoo their primary search engine. Yahoo Mail users will be given early
access to this program. You will receive a monthly reward if you make
Yahoo your primary search engine. This means that most of the searching
you do each month must be on Yahoo Search.”
